Welcome to Methodist Mansfield Minimally Invasive Surgical Associates Bariatric Program
Bariatric surgery, also referred to as weight-loss surgery, is a long-term solution for people suffering the burden of obesity and its related diseases. Contrary to what most assume, the goal of bariatric surgery is not to lose weight — this is a wonderful secondary effect. The primary purpose of weight-loss surgery is to improve or eliminate the diseases associated with obesity, which can include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and sleep apnea.
